​Born in 1960, I grew up in a suburb of Bregenz, Austria.
Since I have a natural inclination to stand up for people's rights, I became interested in practicing law very early in my life.
In 1978 I studied law in Innsbruck and graduated with a doctorate in 1982. After my court and law practice, I founded my own law firm in Bregenz as a sole attorney in 1988. Since I was already very innovative at that time, I looked for possibilities to develop my own lawyer software, because there was no suitable one on the market at that time. During this process, I met Oliver Loy, who, with his partner at the time and me, developed and programmed the first lawyer software program. Our first collaboration not only resulted in another successful start-up in the field of contactless access systems, but also in a long-standing friendship based on trust.
Due to my work as a lawyer, I am constantly exchanging contacts. As a replacement for this antiquated business card, I had not yet been able to find a smart solution. Oliver and I discussed the issue and then came up with the wonderful idea of developing the contactus App.
With our app application it is now very easy to create and exchange your own private digital identity. You will never again find yourself in a situation where you need your business card but do not have it on you. Furthermore, this frees up time for hobbies, sports, family, and friends.

​Born in 1963 in a small Austrian town near Lake Constance, I spent my youth in Vienna.
My electrotechnical education was largely interesting, but the way the lessons were structured did not inspire me much. As a 19-year-old, I became fascinated with calculators and computers, which were available for the first time at that time, so that I started my own company, together with a friend, to develop software.
One of our first and brave customers at that time was my friend and partner, Arnulf Summer. Our company has grown and developed over the years into a respectable company with more than 100 employees, which was very exciting but also brought a lot of new responsibilities.
My entrepreneurial journey has taught me just how essential it is to have a network that enables you to successfully position yourself, including knowing the right people and being able to remember them. As a result, you are able to cultivate an interest that corresponds to your natural aptitudes, gives you pleasure and provides a livelihood.
With the number of contacts increasing rapidly and the quality and depth of those contacts decreasing at the same time, new methods are needed to navigate one's network and to maintain it accordingly so that one can make the most of it.
This led my longtime friend and companion Arnulf and me to create contactus App to enable other people to use their contacts in an optimal way to optimize their quality of life and to follow their calling.

how to use

This text is to help your site visitors with pressing questions.

FIRST STEPS

1. Download and Install the APP:

BUTTON PLAY, BUTTON IOS

   a) Confirm Terms and Conditions
   b) Enter the code you received by sms.

2. Create your first Businesscard:
Fill out your first business card
 enter at least, first or last name,       company or profession and telefon or email.

3. Add photo, background, video and additional fields as you like.

4. You are now ready to use the app

CONNECT PEOPLE

To exchange your business card with other people who have already installed contactus, just scan their qr-code or let them scan your qr-code.
if the cards are shared over bluetooth you can also just click on the visible cards from other users to connect.

INVITE PEOPLE

To invite People just click on the main screen the "INVITE BUTTON" and:

a) select a contact from your contact directory. Make sure thats at least  first name or last name, company or profession and a mobile number is filled out. add a picture of the person a related businesscard if you want.

b) fill in all data manually to invite a new contact which is not in your contact directory.

MANAGE

1 Main view:
- exchange business cards by scanning qr code
- see and exchange business cards from people around if bluetooth is on
- invite people and instantly add them to contact directory

2. Contact view:
- Search, sort and filter your businesscards and invitations
- Add the business cards to the contact directory
- Add notes and picture to existing business cards.
- Add reveive real time updates for all your business cards.

3. Profile view:
- Edit or add additional information to your business card, like birthday, links and a photo of your paper card.
- Add photo, background and video to your business card.
- Create as  many additional business cards as you want.

3. About the contactus AppThe contactus App enables you to create, customize, and manage virtual business cards featuring your photo, contact information, and an optional short video. You can share your cards easily, collect cards from others, forward them, and build your own independent network.

4. Data We ProcessWhen using the app, we process the personal data you provide upon registration and while creating your business cards — for example:

• Name, title, and contact details (phone number, email address)
  
• Professional background and other information you choose to include (e.g., hobbies, website, video clip)
  

If you have not yet installed contactus, we may receive your phone number from another user who invited you to download the app.

5. Purpose and Legal Basisa) Use of Services
We process your data to register you, provide our services, and ensure proper functionality of the app.
Legal basis: Performance of a contract (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR)
b) Contact-tracing (COVID-19 or similar)
When the app is used for contact-tracing purposes (e.g., check-ins at venues), we act solely as a processor on behalf of the third party (e.g., a restaurant). The respective third party is the controller. Please refer to their own privacy information for details.
c) Statistical Evaluation
We may analyze anonymized or aggregated data to improve our services.
If non-anonymized data are used, processing is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR) in service improvement.
d) Advertising
We do not sell your data to third parties. We may, however, use certain data to show you relevant in-app advertising.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR)
You may object to such processing at any time. Ads may still appear, but will be less relevant.

6. RecipientsWe disclose personal data only when legally permitted and necessary for providing our services.
From a technical perspective, we rely on trusted IT service providers who support us with hosting, analytics, and advertising delivery. These providers are contractually bound to confidentiality and act on our instructions.

7. Data RetentionWe store your personal data as long as you actively use the app. After termination, certain data may be retained to meet legal retention obligations or until potential legal claims have expired. • Withdraw consent (Art. 7 (3)) – You may withdraw consent at any time.
  
• Access (Art. 15) – You may request information about your stored data.

1. Acceptance of TermsBy registering, installing, using, or accessing our apps, services, features, software, or website (“Services”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use our Services.

2. Our ServicesWe provide the contactus App and related Services that allow users to create, customize, manage, and share virtual business cards.
Our key principles include:

• Data protection and security: contactus is built under strict privacy and security principles.
  
• Networking: Users can exchange virtual business cards and form their own network.
  
• Contact-tracing: Users can voluntarily provide their contact details to venue operators or event organizers when needed (e.g., for health-related regulations).
  
• Service improvement: We continuously improve our Services using user feedback and aggregated data.
  
• Security: We take action against abuse, harmful behavior, and violations of our Terms.
  

We may share relevant information with affiliated companies or authorities to maintain security or prevent abuse.

3. Registration and UseTo register, you must provide a valid mobile phone number. We send registration and login codes via SMS or phone call, either directly or through an authorized provider.
You must be at least 16 years old or the minimum legal age in your country to use our Services. If you are under that age, your legal guardian must consent on your behalf.
You are responsible for your device, software, and data charges related to using our Services.

You retain ownership of the information and materials you upload or share through contactus. You must have the rights to such content and grant us permission to use it as necessary to operate our Services.
License to contactus:
By using our Services, you grant contactus a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, store, reproduce, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating and providing our Services.
License to you:
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use our Services in accordance with these Terms.
We own all rights to the contactus name, logo, trademarks, domains, and software. You may not use them without our explicit permission.

9. Infringement of RightsIf you violate the intellectual property rights of others, we may take appropriate action, including suspension or termination of your account.

10. DisclaimersWe provide our Services using reasonable care and skill, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Our Services are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We are not responsible for how users or third parties use the Services or for their actions or content. You use the Services at your own risk.

11. Limitation of LiabilityOur total liability for any losses or damages arising out of or in connection with your use of our Services is limited to foreseeable losses and will not exceed the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months.
This limitation does not apply in cases of death, personal injury, or fraud.

12. IndemnificationIf a third party brings a claim against contactus due to your actions, content, or violation of law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from all related liabilities, costs, and expenses, including legal fees.

13. Dispute ResolutionIf you are a consumer residing within the European Region, the laws of your country apply, and disputes may be brought before a competent court in your jurisdiction.
In all other cases, these Terms are governed by the laws of Austria, and disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Austria.

14. Availability and TerminationWe may modify, suspend, or discontinue some or all of our Services at any time, including for maintenance, upgrades, or technical issues.
You may terminate your relationship with contactus at any time by deleting your account.
We may also terminate or suspend your account for violations, fraud, or unlawful behavior.
The following sections survive termination: Licenses, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Dispute Resolution.

15. Other Provisions

• These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and contactus.
  
• We may assign our rights and obligations to affiliates or successors (e.g., in case of merger or restructuring).
  
• You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent.
  
• If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms remain in effect.
  
• Failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver.
  
• Local consumer rights that cannot be waived by contract remain unaffected.
  
• We appreciate feedback and suggestions but are under no obligation to compensate for them.
